Royal Candle Factory

The Royal Candle Factory buys pure beeswax from
beekeepers’ cooperatives to produce candles for use in
the Royal Household. On His Majesty’s wish, this can
reduce the national budget allocated for candle
purchasing and can support the beekeepers.

The products include candles for various royal ceremonies and the large
Buddhist Lent candles which His Majesty the King presents to monasteries
under royal patronage for the Buddhist Lent Ceremony.

To produce small candles, beeswax is melted and poured into molds and
left to set for about half an hour. Remove the set candles from the mold and
decorate. In the production of the large Buddhist Lent candles, red dye will
be added to the beeswax. Only one traditional style is made. A sheet of pure
gold is used for decoration.
